Results become more revealing when they are read as part of a sequence. Eleven days after closing one CSI3* week in Lier, Shk. Rashid bin Ahmed Al Maktoum and Diva DXB returned to the same venue and put another top-ten finish on their international record.
On 3 September, the Emirati combination finished tenth in a CSI3* class at 1.45m. The official FEI record supplies a concise line — date, venue, height, horse and placing — but its significance sits in the continuity behind it: the same rider, the same mare and another measured step at three-star level.
A result built between shows
The pair's previous Lier campaign ended on 23 August after a weekend that progressed from 1.45m to two 1.50m tests. Returning less than two weeks later meant bringing that information back into the arena: how Diva responded to the venue, where the partnership could gain time and how to preserve precision without losing intent.
A tenth-place finish does not tell us every answer. It does, however, show that the combination was competitive again at 1.45m. In a sport shaped by small adjustments, repetition at the same venue can be valuable. The fences may be rebuilt, yet the rider arrives with a clearer map of the environment and of the horse beneath him.
The experience inside the partnership
Diva DXB is a 2013 Selle Français mare by Ogano Sitte, out of Lady Calvaro, with Calvaro F.C. as damsire. Her official FEI record includes international starts through 1.60m, giving Rashid a partner with experience across the different questions presented by ranking classes and Grand Prix tracks.
That experience is not a substitute for preparation; it is the material preparation can work with. Every return to the ring asks the pair to balance scope with control, and ambition with the discipline of riding the round in front of them. Lier's top ten is valuable precisely because it belongs to that longer process.
What comes after a top ten
As of 8 September, Rashid's official FEI profile did not publish a next event. That leaves the next start open, but the direction is visible. The combination has moved repeatedly between 1.45m and higher international classes, and this latest placing adds a positive marker before their programme continues.
